Štrbské Pleso is one of the most popular tourist centres in the High Tatras. Winter attracts not only skiers, but also lovers of winter hiking and trips. If you are looking for beautiful views, snowy forests and unforgettable atmosphere, these routes are ideal for you.
1. Route to Popradské pleso

One of the most popular winter routes leads from Štrbské Pleso to Popradské pleso. The route is easy and suitable for families with children. It leads gently uphill on a wide road, which is often trodden even in winter. At the end you will have a wonderful view of the frozen Popradské pleso surrounded by the Tatra peaks.
The symbolic cemetery of the victims of the Tatras is closed in winter.
2. Ascent to Predné Solisko
Length: approx. 5.5 km (one direction)
Time: 2 - 3 hours
If you're looking for a challenge and beautiful panoramic views, the climb to Predné Solisko is a great choice. The route starts at the lower station of the cable car to Solisko and runs along the ski slope to the mountain hut below Solisko. From there, you can continue even higher to the very top of Predné Solisko (2 117 m above sea level), where you will have a breathtaking view of the entire Tatra landscape.
3. Circular route around Štrbské Pleso . nature trail
Length: approx. 6 km
Time: 2 - 3 hours
For those looking for an easy walk, the circular route around Štrbské Pleso is the ideal choice. It is a great opportunity to relax and admire the winter beauty of the Tatras. The route is well maintained, suitable for families with children and offers many places for photography.
4. Hike to Waterfall Jump
Length: approx. 5 km (one direction)
Time: 2 - 3 hours
The Skok waterfall is beautiful even in winter, when it is frozen over and forms impressive ice formations. The route starts at Štrbské Pleso and leads through the Mlynická valley. The trail can be slippery in winter, so we recommend having appropriate winter gear such as hiking poles and crampons.
